“WATCH: Sister cities cultural exchange at Philadelphia City Hall”
On April 1, the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and the City brought together students, educators, and officials from around the world as part of a Sister Cities exchange program. Philadelphia City Council honored the program with a special citation.
Students from Philadelphia’s Sister Cities—Toruń, Poland, and Florence, Italy—took part in this cultural exchange with students from Philadelphia’s Science Leadership Academy, George Washington Carver High School, and Central High School.
Lauren Swartz, President and CEO of World Affairs, welcomed the delegations from Poland and Italy, noting, “When delegations from our Sister Cities come, we have the opportunity to connect Philadelphians, who may not have the opportunity to travel, with their peers, their sisters and brothers, in other places.”
