Get acquainted with French-accented Hanoi during a three-night stay, touring historic sites and sampling local cuisine. On a full-day Ha Long Bay excursion, explore this stunning waterscape by boat. Spending three nights in a beachfront hotel in Da Nang, tour the acclaimed Cham Museum and Hoi An’s charming Old Town, a UNESCO site where you enjoy a cooking lesson. In Hue, explore the vast Imperial Citadel, take a cyclo ride, and cruise on the Perfume River. Then experience river life with two nights in the storied Mekong Delta, journeying by boat to a floating market and exploring by sampan. See a farming settlement’s daily life. A three-night stay in vibrant Saigon with touring and independent exploration concludes the journey. Veteran Tour Host, Former Executive Director and President of the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads

Maria Zammit has been with the World Affairs Council system since 1989, holding various leadership roles including Executive Director and President of the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads, as well as Secretary and Vice Chairman of the national World Affairs Councils of America. She has also led World Affairs Council groups to Morocco; Vietnam; Malta to Rome, via Sicily; India; Iran and Sri Lanka. Prior to her work with the World Affairs Councils, she was the Assistant Director for Policy Analysis at Public Strategies in Washington, D.C. and served as an assistant to Ambassador Richard C. Holbrooke. Ms. Zammit has published articles in the SAIS Review, the Asian Wall Street Journal, and the Virginian-Pilot. She has also served on the boards of WHRO, the Reves Advisory Council at the College of William and Mary, and other local organizations. She received her M.A. in International Relations from the Paul Nitze School for Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
