PHILADELPHIA STYLE MAGAZINE

World Affairs is proud to announce that President and CEO Lauren Swartz has been named as one of Philadelphia Style magazine’s 2026 Philadelphia Icons.

Featured in the magazine’s July/August 2026 issue celebrating America’s 250th anniversary, Swartz is described as a “civic leader deeply woven into the city’s fabric.”

Her full interview can be found here.

The honor recognizes World Affairs’ President and CEO as one of the leaders whose contributions have helped shape Philadelphia and its future.

Philadelphia Style writer, Antonia DePace, explains:

“From the cultural trailblazers and sports legends to visionary entrepreneurs and larger-than-life personalities, these icons embody the grit, charisma, ambition and unmistakable attitude that make Philly unlike anywhere else.”

In the article, Lauren shares her thoughts on the significance of the nation’s 250th anniversary, her dedication to the city that shaped her, and Philadelphia’s role today.

Notes Swartz,

“Philadelphia’s revolutionary spirit still circulates in our DNA…Like democracy, cities are messy, complex, beautiful, sometimes broken, delicious places where change is the oxygen needed to grow. Philadelphia sets this example, and we should be proud of it.”

World Affairs extends our sincere thanks to Modern Luxury and Philadelphia Style magazine for this meaningful recognition.

Congratulations to Lauren Swartz and the other honorees on this incredible and well-deserved honor!
