Persian Gulf Cruise

With Ambassador Mark Johnson

About this Trip

Join Ambassador Mark Johnson as he puts into context this wonderful exploration of Arabia.  During this journey to Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, and Oman aboard the all-suite, 48-guest Crystal Esprit, visit the mosques, souks, educational institutions, and museums that reflect a fascinating juxtaposition of past and present that is unique to the  Islamic world. Your journey begins in the City of Merchants, Dubai, second largest of the seven Emirates that make up the U.A.E. An exotic destination with a cosmopolitan lifestyle, Dubai combines the comfort and conveniences of the Western world with the unique charm of Arabia.  Continue to Qatar, where visits to the old souq and the new Education City illustrate how dramatic change has come to the Gulf States. Abu Dhabi, the island capital of the U.A.E. is one of the world’s richest cities, with wide tree-lined boulevards, lush green parks, gushing fountains and imposing skyscrapers. Wrap up your journey with a cruise through the fjord-like waterways of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula and visits to some of the country’s culturally rich museums, mosques, and  markets.
