Inside Botswana

About this Trip

Immerse yourself in the daily life of the locals on this remarkable journey to Botswana. Start in Gaborone, where you'll devote time to learning the intricacies of the Botswanan government and, with a minimum group size, attend a U.S. Embassy briefing. From there, head out into the wilderness to experience the tremendous offerings of this country, including Africa's iconic safari wildlife. Jet to your next destination in a light aircraft, with unbeatable birdseye views of the vistas below. Visit the Kalahari Desert and the otherworldly Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, where a glowing, white expanse of natural salt deposits create glittering mirages that seem to reach out into the horizon endlessly. Nearby, the Nxai Pans are home to an array of animal and plant life. Then, take in the spectacular view over the Okavango; a massive wetland wilderness of looping channels, islands forested with palms, and wide grassy floodplains that you'll explore on foot, in open 4x4 safari vehicles, and floating along the channels in authentic mokoro canoes in search of elephant and lion, leopard and Pel’s Fishing Owl.  Several meet-the-people opportunities throughout.

$7,995 per person plus airfare.

“The Game Drives were the highlight of this trip. Seeing the large animals in their natural habitats was just spectacular!”
