The Caucasus lend a stunning backdrop to this singular 17-day small group journey.  Encounter Armenia’s early Christian heritage and Georgia’s traditional culture, contemporary cities and breathtaking scenery, and welcoming local people.  With four nights in modern Yerevan, experience the Armenian capital.  Visit the Greco-Roman Garni Temple.  Travel to the scenic Ararat plain and see Armenian UNESCO sites:  Geghard Monastery, Zvartnots Cathedral, and Haghpat.  Overnight in Dilijan, the “Armenian Switzerland.”  Spending three nights in culturally rich Tbilisi, tour its old town and the Georgian National Museum.  Savor a tasting at a winery in Georgia’s renowned wine country.  Explore ancient Mtskheta en route to Stepantsminda at Mount Kazbek’s foot.   Enjoy lunch in a local family’s home and see the Sno Valley.  A stay in Borjomi includes visits to two UNESCO sites.  Returning to Tbilisi, stop at a 7th-century cave town.  Discover Azerbaijani gems Sheki and Baku with an optional 5-day/4-night post-tour extension.
