Shaped by its unique geography, Chile’s beauty is defined by ocean, desert and the formidable Andes mountains. The nation is audaciously embarking on a courageous political experiment, rewriting its very constitution to reconcile its competing political and economic forces. The legacies of democracy, dictatorship, socialism, free-market economic policies, social movements and protest pulse throughout the country’s history and echo loudly today. A pre-trip extension to southern Chile’s Patagonia and a post-trip extension to northern Chile’s Atacama Desert will also be offered.
