Venture to Orvieto, perched atop a dramatic rock plateau with sweeping Umbrian vistas, to stroll cobblestone streets and see the Duomo di Orvieto and other Gothic architecture. Next, spend a day in Tuscany to wander Cortona’s cobblestone piazzas and palazzos and appreciate Montepulciano’s Renaissance architecture and centuries-old wine cellars. In the walled town of Assisi, witness the Basilica of San Francesco d’Assisi and view the patron saint’s tomb. Tour medieval Gubbio at the foot of Mount Ingino and admire Todi’s picture-perfect Piazza del Popolo. Plus, visit an olive oil mill for a tour, tasting and lunch, and join a traditional Umbrian cooking experience with lunch and wine! This small-group program features expert guides and enrichment on Italian art, architecture and history.
