An adventure awaits in the Himalayan nations of Bhutan and Nepal! Begin your journey in Thimphu with a visit to the National Institute, which teaches the 13 traditional Bhutanese arts and crafts. Take in the sights of the enormous Shakyamuni Buddha statue and the National Memorial Chorten stupa. In Paro, learn about Bhutanese art at the National Museum and enjoy a meal at a traditional farmhouse. Hike to the famous “Tiger’s Nest” Taktsang Monastery, a national symbol of Bhutan. Next, fly to Kathmandu, where Durbar Square’s complex of palaces, courtyards and temples from medieval Nepalese kings preserve’s the country’s architectural history as well as the UNESCO-inscribed Swayambhunath Stupa. In Pokhara, hike to secluded temples, the stunning Pataale Chhango falls, and a cave sacred to the Hindu deity Shiva. End your tour with a safari in the lowland nature preserve of Bharatpur, home to exotic animals like the Indian Rhinoceros and the Royal Bengal Tiger.
