Global Leadership Institute for Professionals
About the GLI
The Global Leadership Institute for Professionals (GLI) is a value-added initiative for active corporate members of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.
Directors and corporate members identify rising stars within their companies or their clients’ companies to participate in a year-long (Jan.-Dec.) program that engages successor leadership in a substantive series of events that focus on networking, community service, and leadership development.
GLI is an effective way to help develop participants into well-rounded, knowledgeable, internationally-competitive professionals.
Each participant will receive a complimentary $100 Dual level membership with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, which includes the standard benefits of that level for each individual.
- Emerging leaders who have demonstrated the aptitude, talent, and desire to rise in their corporate communities and to give back to their local and global communities
- Personally recommended by top executives, as eager learners who would like to leverage their interest in world affairs to achieve a better understanding of commercial, cultural, and political dynamics in the competitive global marketplace
GLI core programs and Council speaker events provide:
Leadership and Professional Development: The Council’s capacity to convene, connect, and provide rich and engaged leadership development offers a powerful opportunity. The organization will draw on its Board of Directors and a community of experts across a variety of topics.
Social Responsibility: Engage with the Council’s most important constituency: the diverse group of 2,600 middle and high school students who participate in our Global Leadership Programs for students. These year-long programs build the critical skills necessary for success in the 21st-century global economy, educate youth about U.S. policy and global leadership, and instill the values of responsible citizenship.
The Global Leadership Institute is a value-added service for active corporate members of the Council. If you would like to nominate one of your professionals, please contact the GLI Liaison.
Each year, participants of the Global Leadership Institute, design a collective service project to contribute to the academic success of our partner school, Bodine High School for International Affairs
