Speaker Program:
Breaking News: Events in U.S. Foreign Policy

The 2019 High School Welcome Back Reception invites faculty and students from our partner high schools to attend a special pre-program discussion with a panel of speakers discussing contemporary topics in U.S. foreign policy.  Directly following the discussion, Council staff will introduce topics for this year's programming and preview the program schedule for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Following the reception, guests will attend the program free of cost and will get a deeper look into important topics in U.S. foreign policy. Panelists will discuss everything from rising tensions between the West and Iran to the threat of Ebola in a war-torn South Sudan; from the trade war between the U.S. and China to the yet-to-be-fully-realized Brexit.  With so much going on in the world, it can often feel difficult to keep up.  Join the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and a select group of foreign policy experts as we aim to break down the issues and shed light on the biggest threats and challenges to U.S. foreign policy.
