About the Event

The United States and Canada have fought alongside one another in defense of common values through World Wars I and II, the Cold War, Korea, Balkans, the Middle East, and Afghanistan. They share North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) mutual defense commitments,  their military forces cooperate on continental defense within the framework of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and in the Arctic. This relationship is crucially important to both countries, and for North America as a whole.

The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia hosted this conversation with Major-General Paul Ormsby, Canadian Defense Attaché to the United States, who provided an in-depth perspective of the past, present, and future of America’s most extensive defense relationship.
