About the Event

On March 20, 2019, please join the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia for an exclusive wine reception for the opening of a special temporary photography exhibit, A Journey through Contested Lands

Six Magnum photographers went to remote regions around the world where indigenous communities are waging unseen battles to remain on their ancestral lands. Magnum Photos and Pacific Standard, with support from the Pulitzer Center, collaborated on a special photo issue and website called A Journey through Contested Lands, released in the summer of 2018, highlighting the work of the photographers and journalists who visited these communities fighting to protect their land.

We hope you will join us for this exclusive reception featuring remarks from two Pulitzer Center photojournalists to celebrate the Council's 70th Anniversary and welcome this striking exhibit to Philadelphia.

The exhibit will be open from March 19 through April 2.
