NEW! Our 2010 Student Diplomat handbook for teachers is now available!

As the Student Diplomat Program is a comprehensive year-long project, the Council provides teachers with a host of lesson plans, activities and other information to help prepare their students prior to each program or conference. We work closely with all our teachers during the year to make sure they have the resources needed to create a successful and enriching experience!

The United Nations: A Handbook for Middle School Students provides detailed information about the U.N., including a brief history, the U.N. Charter, and the basic structure and operations of its various parts. Every student who participates in the Student Diplomat program also receives a hard copy of this book. We also offer a Resource List for Teachers and Students. This document provides websites and resources containing information about the United Nations, as well as topic specific information for the Girl Child and Technology. The Council has created a presentation entitled "Defining Culture and Diplomacy: An Overview of the Student Diplomat Program" for Middle School students which provides basic definitions and guidance on working with your students throughout the program.

All students should complete the Country and Culture Profile Sheet prior to their trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
